Drumroll please… Doster Brewing Co will be serving at the 13th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival!

The festival is Saturday, October 22nd from 1- 6PM, please visit Detroit Fall Beer Festival for additional information and to purchase your tickets.

What does this mean for us?

This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our beers alongside all of the other great Michigan craft breweries.  The event offers a straightforward means to get our name (and more importantly our beer!) into the hands of thirsty consumers as we continue to work toward the long-term goal of a taproom.  We are laser-focused on preparing for this festival as it is the final Michigan Brewer’s Guild festival of the year (and our only planned festival this year).

How to prepare?

Well for starters we need to get some more beer going!  In addition to Calibrator Blonde Ale and Miserly Whip Milk Stout, we are planning to make Dubbstep Dubbel (a traditional Belgian dubbel), Razed by Haze (a juicy hazy IPA) and Git Gor’d (a pumpkin ale).  Adding these 3 new beers to the lineup will bring us up to 5 different varieties for the festival.

As this is our first beer festival, we are also doing a lot of brainstorming for what our booth should look like.  We want a message that is on-brand and engaging so festival goers will be curious to try our beer.  We are narrowing down our ideas based on our research from local breweries and past beer festivals.

Speaking of “on-brand”, a lot of you have been patiently waiting and I just wanted to share that we have been hard at work wrapping up our designs/suppliers for merchandise.  Our goal is to have everything in place in the coming weeks, so that we can all proudly display our DBC logoed Tees at the festival 😉.

A Miserly Whip Milk Stout 4-Pack

What else is going on?

Some of you were lucky enough to get your hands on some 4-packs of Miserly Whip Milk Stout and Calibrator Blonde Ale, but due to your overwhelming support I have run out of labels!  I have a fairly large order in to get pre-labeled cans (aka “shrink” cans) as this should look really awesome and speed up the canning process.  The cans may take a couple of weeks to get here, so thank you all for your patience!

In the meantime, I do have kegs for sale and am continuing to work that angle with local bars/restaurants when possible.  Word of mouth rules this industry, so if you have a favorite local haunt or “beerista” that is looking for a new local craft offering, talk to them about Doster Brewing Co and have them reach out at dosterbrewingco@gmail.com or on social media.

I would love to bring by some samples in and at worst they’ll get some free beer out of the deal 😁!

Thanks all and cheers for now! 🍻
